![]() The tenant was refunded $720 after an estimated move out statement was sent according to the 21-day requirement. At move out, she did not leave the property clean and there were items that had to be disposed of left on the property and in the garage. I informed the owner they should call the police and we can't control what *******, or her guest were doing at this point but if they felt threatened to involve the authorities. They called again very frustrated and said they would *** our owner for damages if one of our tenants comes onto the property again. After disconnecting it, the line was re-attached again by the tenants and against the neighboring owners' permissions. I called the tenant and spoke to her about the problem and reported it to our owner immediately because the city was going to be involved. We contacted ******* and informed them, and the owner next door explicitly said that she was lodging a complaint with the City of Lynden about our tenant and at first thought we had connected the wire. Because of the danger from someone being clotheslined in the dark from an illegal cable line installed, it was detached by Utopia maintenance. We received notice 8/22/22 and so she was still responsible for September's rent The owner of the next-door property reached out to me and complained about ***** and her friend's behavior toward her husband and tenant on several occasions during an incident. The property manager was nothing but rude accusing me of having an extra occupant, which I definitely didnt and demanded I take down my dog kennel that was approved by the previous landlord Also, the neighbors landscapers had cut the internet line and a technician had came out to run a temporary line, but the Utopia property manager said it was unsafe and had their maintenance guy cut the line the whole experience was horrible with them and I feel ripped off gif s bunch of money. Definitely bogus charges also, I moved out by September 1, 2022, but was told if I paid the whole month of September, I could get a pro-rated refund after living out, but didnt another thing is I had paid my rent for *** of 2022, which was the month the property was sold and Utopia took over, so I kept getting late charges added die to them not being able to figure out that I had paid the *** rent to the previous landlord, which I was able to get someone to fix most of the late fees eventually then when I asked gif the charges to get fixed for charges I shouldnt ***** had, I was told I had already had charges credited, so they couldnt do any more even know those credited charges were for their mistake. There was also a door mat and a couple nails in the wall when I moved in that I got charged fir removal along with garbage, even know I definitely didnt leave garbage. On my rental agreement, the original landlord listed that the blinds were all broken, but I got charged gif broken blinds. The new owners unfortunately had Utopia manage the property. I had a private landlord that sold the property. We can't afford to have a big business steal from us. My family owns one property and my parents are both retired. ![]() The last time I went to their office, I waited well over an hour just to talk to someone to address this issue. They don't answer calls, texts, emails, or voice messages. After confronting them with the evidence, to which they admitted and agreed was an error on their part, they agreed to refund us the money (earlier this month- January 2023) in exchange for my removing a negative review I left on ******* We were told we would hear back about the refund within less than 2 business days, but still nothing. After a couple of months, it seemed that they were looking for any excuse to collect money from us in addition to the agreed upon monthly fee so we decided to terminate our contract with then in December 2022 after withholding maintenance fees for dispatching a service technician for a so called tenant emergency, it was later determined that the dispatch was unnecessary as there was no actual emergency. They were fine at first and very responsive. We signed up with this company in October 2022.
